The idea of the international project Step by step sprang up in the Russian State Library for Young Adults in 2010 during the first visit of Britt-Marie Ingden Ringselle and Kristiina Kolehmainen. It's aim is to create a day by day life story of Swedish and Russian libraries. So every day one photo of the particular day in a library will be posted on the Photoblog. We hope that in a year each of the participating libraries (PUNKTmedis, Serieteket, Russian State Library for Young Adults) will get a vivid image of their own and sister libraries. By the implementation of this project we hope to join IFLA Sister Libraries programme. We believe that this kind of project will help our librarians not only to establish good relations with foreign colleagues and exchange ideas and experience with them, but to be inspired to develop cultural and professional connections.

First in black and white and soon in colours and with the end of the story - so it is really a work in progress. 11.5.2012 PUNKTmedis The Youth department 69 years ago - in June 1943. 12.5.2012 PUNKTmedis For a little while we hope that both we and our visitors can find the manga they want:-) 13.5.2012 PUNKTmedis You can get help with your homework at PUNKTmedis on Mondays and Thirsdays between 16-19 o'clock. 14.5.2012 PUNKTmedis You can reach our library on many different ways. This is the most beautiful right now, through the park with cherry trees. 15.5.2012 PUNKTmedis Four girls got the scholarship "Fast money" and arranged a Twilight evening and invited other young girls. They showed "Breaking dawn 1", discussed the film and had a real good time:-) 16.5.2012 PUNKTmedis An exhibition made by young people in Stockholm about empowerment among young people in Malawi. The exhibition started today and a lot of relatives and friends came and shared the message of empowerment. 17.5.2012 PUNKTmedis Hanna and Ea show their exhibition for a visitor in Lava in the Culture house. Both of them had their first exhibition in PUNKTmedis a year ago and this year they wanted to try a new place and we wish them good luck, of course:-) 18.5.2012 PUNKTmedis Tor is the name of our library robot. He has been working almost every day since 26th of February 2005. In October he will be replaced by a new and bigger robot. 19.5.2012 PUNKTmedis Our visitors can suggest media they want us to buy to the youth library. If they want to order the book they write their card number. We in the staff answer them and order the books as soon as possible. And send a message when the books arrive. 2.5.2012 PUNKTmedis PUNKTmedis is a meeting-place for the teens of Stockholm. It is open 64 hours a week (Monday - Thursday 10 - 21, Friday 10 - 22, Saturday and Sunday 12 - 16). 20.5.2012 PUNKTmedis Our non-fiction section is not very big, but we have a library for grown ups and children just up the stairs, and they have a lot of non-fiction. 21.5.2012 PUNKTmedis We have a lot of board games, and as you see they are frequently used. This time it is documentary films students in Stockholm have made in South Africa. They will show two films "Rio Rita" and "Longs Street Kids" about ordinary peoples way of life. 10.6.2012 PUNKTmedis The wellknow Science Fiction writer Ray Bradbury died 5th of June almost 92 years old. We put all his books at display and today only 3 remained. 11.6.2012 PUNKTmedis Come and play our board games - we have lots of them. And the music is chosen by the staff member working in the information desk. We met where to discuss how we can make our neighbourhood safer, and specially for the children and young adults. On the 22th of September we plan the Day of Södermalm in our area. 17.6.2012 PUNKTmedis Signe from a library in Nynäshamn came and borrowed a suitcase full of role playing books. In Nynäshamn they will have a summer filled of role playing activities and we are happy to share our books:-) 18.6.2012 PUNKTmedis Today arrived the catalogue with all new books for autumn - now we have to read it carefully, discuss with our visitors and among ourselfes which books we shall buy and then buy them and wait for them to arrive:-) 19.6.2012 PUNKTmedis This is our jukebox for e-media. Here you can download films, talking books, language courses, travel guides and games directly to your mobile phone or on a usb-stick and transport it to your computer at home. 2.6.2012 PUNKTmedis The library at 8 o´clock in the evening. We are open to 9 o´clock, but now it is summer and people do a lot of other things, so we should better close earlier. And we will but only from the 11th of June, and when we will close at 7 o´clock. 20.6.2012 PUNKTmedis One of our regular visitors, Malin, shows her latest creations. She is really the master of cakes. Now she will build her own kitchen and start her own cake company. At first they did a lousy job and had to come back and fix it, so now we hope it will be all right. We asked him to sign his own books for our library and he wrote short introductions in each of them - nice! 19.9.2012 PUNKTmedis At the children's library we have something called "Bokfika" where we have some lemonade and cookies, talking about all the great books we've read! 2.9.2012 PUNKTmedis Do you want get inside a librarians brain? An ill-conceived decision to take away "Tintin" books from a youth library (due to "racist content") ignited an national debate about censorship. Serieteket was not involved in the decision but still got blamed. 27.9.2012 Serieteket While we firmly criticized the decision to put away Tintin books, and we don't agree that most of the books are racist (though a few of them are), we think that the debate got blown out of proportions fast.
